Rate my Build
Ok, i have been reading these forums (perhaps a bit too much?) and am rather confused as to what dervish skills are good and which aren't. Also, id like to get some feedback on a build i have recently created that i seem to be having a successful time with.
Derv/Sin
Deadly arts: 4
SM: 12
WP: 5
EP: 8
Myst: 12
Victorious Sweep
Mystic Sweep
Lyssa's Assault
Heart of Fury
Onslaught
Dark Prison (just a play style choice )
Mystic Regen
Mystic Vigor
Wep: Any scythe with Zealous
(sorry for the text, dont know how to work the buttons yet )
so, your thoughts? anything i can improve on?

Well, what's the purpose behind the build? Dark prison gives a short snare, and will work better in spike oriented builds - in which you would want eremites as well for a lightning quick flurry of attack skills.
Lyssa's Assault is a bad skill, i'd recommend zealous sweep
Your attributes are way too spread out which creates a weaker build. Try to stick to 2-3 attribute lines. If you're using Onslaught, chilling victory would be worth taking for reduced energy cost. Also, with spec in wind prayers it'd be wise to take whirling charge, combine it with HoF for perma IAS. Taking natural healing is a good idea with attributes allocated in wind, however it'll be difficult replacing HoF to get the most out of this skill.

well i created the build after messing around with some other builds. This one came about because i didnt like the gaps i was getting between attacks while waiting for energy regen or skill CDs.
Dark prison is there for the snare, but that was an attempt to keep the enemy im hitting around long enough to snag it with another more effective snare, since gone from my builds.
The rest, like Lyssa's assault, was to provide both a constant damage output and an added effect, in this case energy managment. And Myst Regen and Myst Vigor are there for survivability.
And thank you for the feedback, keep it coming

You want to split att pointsto less than 5 lines.
Also, you want IAS of some sort in there, and res skill.

ok, i reallocated the points, and replaced an earth prayers rune for a wind prayers so its
SM: 12
WP: 10
EP: 3 (extra points after I had spent the rest)
Myst: 12
the only things that changed from my original skill set are
Lyssa's Assault > Zealous Sweep and Dark Prison > Death's Charge (the reason i use ShSteps is to get to the enemy quickly after casting my pre battle enchants)
As for the rez siget... i never considered it a reasonable replacement for a slot. I do however realize how it could help, and if i ever group (i have no faith in pugs) then i will replace the ShStep for it.
The greater reason i am here however is to learn how the game works, and that includes more than just builds. If there are things i should know about things like the rez siget, then please feel free to educate me
anyway, thanks for the help, i like how the build operates more. And i will continue to work with the rest of of your suggestions.

Is there a reason you are using Lyssa's assault over say Eremite's Attack?

because i don't like to use situational attacks over set ones.
Eremites is one of those because you need your enemies to be bunched to get the greatest effect, and +9-10 seems too measly to be worth it. In my experience i have almost never been able to get the enemies i am hitting to stay packed, on the contrary it seems every time i go to hit them they spread out (darn smart NPCs... i mostly only PvE btw). Basically, the less i can personally control it, the less i like it.
however i have switched to one of those "situationals", zealous sweep, to replace lyssa's.

if you want to know more about game:
lesson one: http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/IAS
attack speed inscrease skills boost your damage, usually way more than just pure damage skill in that slot would do.
since you invested in wind prayers, either of dervish ias skills is worth it for you.

That's a fine argument but Lyssa's assault is garbage so its good that you replaced it.

Im under the impression that, after using zealous, it would be better for lyssa's if they changed it to 5e cost and 5e return... because the entire reason it was hard for me to use was because it costs 10e. But i may be missing the problem entirely.
And as for the IAS, yes i am aware of what it can do for you. I am by no means trying to sound arrogant, but perhaps i should mention i played WoW before this, and have some experience in these types of things from that.(the info might help when explaining some things :P)
One question i have, seeing as eremite's is so popular, is how do you all keep your enemies bunched together to get a better effect from it? Or is it the reasoning that it acts like a second attack on top of your regular one, and the extra damage is just a bonus?

Eremite's Attack has 3/4 second cast time, it works as a spiking tool. Two Scythe hits in the time it normally takes to swing it once. Sometimes its bonus damage will trigger, sometimes it won't... its not the point. Since you already have Mystic Sweep though, I don't know if I understand their reasoning for suggesting you take Eremite's.

Not sure there's much point taking Eremite's if Mystic and HoF are already there. One of the big-hitter skills - Radiant Scythe maybe? - would be a better choice.
Zealous sweep works as well, though.
